Rui Brites
Strategy & Human Insights Consultant - Research Anthropologist at Stripe Partners
Interested in the intersection of social science and business strategy
As a consultant at the intersection of social science and strategy, I help organisations make sense of complex human dynamics to inform business decisions. My perspective is shaped by an academic foundation in anthropology (LSE), an MBA (Esade), hands-on experience leading initiatives in high-growth tech (Teya), and rigorous analytical training in strategy consulting (Bain & Company). Currently, I work at the heart of human insights, partnering with global clients to uncover behavioural patterns, cultural signals, and systemic forces that shape how people live, work, and consume. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative research tools, I help teams build products, strategies, and narratives that resonate with their users.
I joined the AAN Mentorship Program to get advice on how to develop my personal brand within the world of applied anthropology and to find my voice in the community by leveraging my unique mix of skills and experiences. I’m especially interested in how deep cultural understanding, combined with analytical rigor, can unlock new opportunities for innovation. Whether working with startups or established institutions, I’m motivated by the same principle: using human insights to drive more thoughtful, impactful business decisions. Outside of work, I’m also a footballer, DJ, filmmaker, and passionate home cook!
