Research Interests
My journey into anthropology began with my work in the refugee resettlement sector, where I became fascinated by how newcomers and established communities navigate finding common ground. Anthropology challenges us to understand what matters to people whose value systems we might not recognize, share, or easily agree with. After completing my studies in anthropology at the Université de Montréal, I earned a PhD from the University of Cambridge. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at McGill University, where I am conducting new research and writing a book based on my doctoral fieldwork in Tennessee. The book explores intellectual integrity and the ethics of religious authority in American evangelicalism.
Building on this foundation, my latest research examines how religious values shape financial strategies within the social innovation sector. In particular, I am conducting a Montreal-based case study on transforming heritage church buildings into inclusive community spaces. While still rooted in scholarly research, this work has deepened my interest in applying anthropology beyond academia. To further explore these possibilities, I joined the Mentee program to broaden the reach of my skills and expertise.
